For starters, the best time of year to visit Indonesia is between May and September when it is dry and sunny. Raja Ampat Islands
Located off the northwest tip of the island of New Guinea, this place comprises over 1,500 small islands and cays. This wonder boasts the highest recorded marine life on Earth making it one of the most famous dive destinations in the world. Yes, so you know that the human population density here is extremely low.
Tanjung Puting National Park
This park is located on the island of Borneo in Central Kalimantan. It is a popular ecotourism destination, with many local tour companies offering multi-day boat tours for you to view the wildlife and visit the research centres. Now by wildlife, we mean gibbons, pythons, macaques, clouded leopards, sun bears, crocodiles and orangutans. Unfortunately illegal logging and forest clearing for agricultural uses are a major threat to the park.

Flores Island
This island is located in the east of Sumbawa and to the west of Lembata in Nusa Tenggara. The most famous attraction here is the Kelimutu volcano caldera. It has three lakes which are fed by volcanic gas that change colour depending on the amount of oxidation in the water. Here you can also visit the traditional villages, experience the local culture by staying with local families and join in activities like bird watching and trekking.
Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park
The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is best known for the scenic view of the ancient volcanic crater and a host of beautiful volcanoes that have emerged from it. The park is named after two mountains, Mount Semeru, Mount Bromo and the Tengger people who live in this area.
Bali
This Indonesian island is known for its forested volcanic mountains, rice paddies, coral reefs and beaches. You will find a number of religious sites here which includes the cliffside, Uluwatu Temple. On the south, the beachside city of Kuta, you can go bar hopping, while Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua are popular resort towns. This is your abode if you are looking for yoga and meditation retreats.
