Zeenat Aman Shares Throwback Vibes From Qurbani Shooting; When Feroz Khan Screamed At Her

Upon discovering Oxford’s word for the year 2023 ‘rizz,’ Zeenat Aman took to Instagram to share an anecdote about Feroz Khan, the person she had known to have ‘rizz.’

‘Rizz’ is a slang term used to shorten ‘charisma’ and in 2023, the ‘rizz trend’ took over the Internet when everybody was sharing their ‘rizz’ of life and many memes were also made following the trend.

Zeenat Aman posted a picture with Feroz Khan on Instagram with an interesting caption, “Feroz and I had a rocky start. It was the 70s, my star was on the rise, and he called me on the telephone to offer me a role in his upcoming production. It was a secondary part, and so I politely refused the offer. Feroz was incensed and let out a stream of expletives while I held the receiver away from my ear! Many months later, he called again. This time he started his pitch by saying - ‘it’s the lead role so don’t reject it.’ And that’s how I joined the cast of Qurbani. I often discuss set etiquette in my captions, so I’d be amiss to neglect Feroz’s influence on me in this regard. I was quite a diligent worker, but on one occasion my youth got the better of me. Though we had an early call time the next day, I agreed to go out to a party. It was a fantastic night of dance and drink, and unsurprisingly I landed up one hour late to set. Feroz was glowering behind his camera, and before I could offer him my meagre excuse, he cut me down to size. ‘Begum, you’re late and you’re going to pay for the delay.’ No argument, no scolding, but you can be sure that he docked my pay to pay the crew for that one-hour delay!”

The Film ‘Qurbani’

Starring Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, and Zeenat Aman, the film ‘Qurbani’ was a success with 7.1 out of 10 stars on IMDB. In the 80s, the film ran 3 months house full in Bombay since its release. After ‘Sholay,’ this film was the next big hit in Indian cinema.

Career Blockbusters

After debuting with ‘The Evil Within’ in 1970, Zeenat Aman was at the top of her game while making her career in the Hindi film industry and delivered multiple blockbuster projects including but not limited to ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna,’ ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram,’ and ‘Qurbani.’

She took a break from her acting career for over a decade after marrying Mazhar Khan to give a quality life to her kids at the time.

On The Work Front
