YouTube has taken down ‘India’s Got Latent’ episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia after his controversial remarks sparked widespread outrage. As per NDTV, the removal followed a notice from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Additionally, Priyank Kanoongo, a member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), also called for the video’s deletion.

Allahbadia, widely known as ‘BeerBiceps,’ is facing backlash over his inappropriate comment on the roast show. A now-viral clip from the episode captures him asking a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" His remarks have drawn severe criticism, putting the 31-year-old content creator, who boasts 4.5 million Instagram followers and 10.5 million YouTube subscribers, in the middle of a heated controversy.

Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Apology

A clip of Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remark quickly went viral, fuelling a massive backlash. Social media users condemned the increasing availability of mature content to audiences of all ages, particularly children, and raised concerns about its potential societal impact.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the controversy, stating, "Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. There should be a dignified way of expressing ourselves."

The investigation now extends beyond Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, as authorities are also looking into the involvement of other participants in the episode, including YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, also known as ‘The Rebel Kid.’

Following the uproar, Allahbadia issued a public apology on his Instagram account, acknowledging that his comment was inappropriate and in poor taste. In a video statement, he admitted, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry."

Addressing the criticism, he added, "I've received many questions asking if I plan to use my platform this way. Obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not here to provide context or justification—just an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It wasn’t cool on my part."

Recognising his audience's diverse age group, Allahbadia further stated, "The podcast is watched by people of all ages, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect."
