The day I roamed around with him all over NYC he must’ve been stopped 50 times for a selfie. Every time he obliged, smiled, and posed for the fans. After maybe the 35th time I asked him (1/n) https://t.co/YlkMnxU2n4

He says, “Greg Chappell gave me great perspective on this - we used to get hounded all the time and he once pointed to the throbbing fans and said Rahul - whatever you have in life you owe it to them,” Mishra continued, “This is not even the most popular sport in places like Australia or England. You are lucky you get this much love. Greg’s words really stuck with me - so if I can bring a smile to someone’s face, why not? In some sense, I owe it to them. Be like Rahul.”

My exaggerated story to my friends about this interaction is that my colleague introduced me as 'Samit' (in his British accent) and hence Dravid's elder son's name 😂”

I have interacted with Rahul Dravid at a hotel lounge; when he was playing for India. He is humble AF. He wanted access; also requested if he could bring in another guest ( Harbhajan Singh). His attitude, demeanour, simplicity is on point
