Sunita Rajwar, known to many as the strong-willed Kranti Devi from 'Panchayat,' or “Bittu Ki Mummy,” the nosy neighbour aunty in 'Gullak,' has come a long way from her humble beginnings. As the daughter of a truck driver, her journey from a small town to becoming a star in Mumbai's entertainment world is truly inspiring.

Sunita Rajwar Early Life and Struggles

Born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and raised in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Sunita's early life was far from glamorous. In a recent interview with Digital Commentary, she revealed a long-held secret, her father's profession as a truck driver. "For years, I was hesitant to discuss my father's job," Sunita confessed, "but I've grown to understand it's something to be proud of, not ashamed of."

According to media reports, Sunita's father took on various odd jobs, including working as a shopkeeper's assistant, before becoming a truck driver.

Sunita Rajwar Acting Journey

Sunita's love for performing arts ignited early. As reported by media reports, she participated in school plays, Ram Leelas, and dance competitions, fuelling her passion for the stage. A pivotal moment came during her college days in Nainital when a National School of Drama (NSD) alumnus discovered her talent. "That was the turning point," Sunita recalls, marking the beginning of her professional acting journey.

Sunita Rajwar TV Shows

Sunita's big break came with the popular TV show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.’ However, her journey wasn't without challenges. In an interview with Indian Express, she shared a phase where she gave up acting, vowing not to be typecast.

"I had decided that I'll not play a maid anymore. As an actor you are open to do any kind of roles but people build a different notion about how a certain type of character would be. I have gone through a lot, I didn’t want to keep doing the similar type of role again. I have been saying no to such roles for some time now, that’s also why I took a break in the first place," Sunita explained.
