Is there anyone who's not a fan of Diljit Dosanjh? After making the whole world do Bhangra to his catchy tunes, the beloved singer has finally announced the India leg of his Dil-Luminati tour. Fans are buzzing with excitement, eager to witness Diljit live as he invites them with his signature line, "Punjabi ghar aa gaye oye!"
As anticipation builds for the concert set to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on October 26, a controversy has emerged that threatens to overshadow the event. A legal notice has been sent to Diljit by a Delhi-based law student after she was unable to secure a ticket for the much-anticipated concert. The notice alleges malpractice in the ticket sales process.
Allegations of Ticket Sales Malpractice
According to reports from the Free Press Journal, Kapoor claims that the organizers opened the booking window one minute earlier than the advertised time of 1 PM on September 12. This premature release allegedly allowed certain buyers to snap up tickets before others even had a chance to access the sale.
The legal notice, filed by Riddhima Kapoor, claims that the concert organisers mismanaged the ticket sales. According to reports from the Free Press Journal, the organisers announced that ticket sales would begin on September 12 at 1 PM. However, they allegedly opened the booking window just a minute earlier at 12:59 PM. This early launch allowed hundreds of fans to snatch up tickets within seconds, leaving many, including Riddhima, without any options.
Riddhima accused the organisers of violating consumer rights and engaging in unfair practises. She specifically mentioned that she had obtained an HDFC credit card to secure early-bird passes but was still unable to purchase a ticket. “This abrupt and suspicious transaction strongly suggests manipulation and scalping practises,” her notice stated, emphasising that such actions violate the Consumer Protection Act of 2019.

In response to the overwhelming demand and potential fraud surrounding ticket sales, the Delhi Police have taken proactive measures. They released a creative warning aimed at concert-goers to be cautious of fraudulent ticket sales. Using Diljit’s popular track "Born To Shine," they crafted a humorous yet serious message: “In your desperation to listen to his music, don’t click on fraudulent links and lose money.”
The police's social media post resonated with fans and even caught Diljit’s attention. He shared their warning on his Instagram story, tagging the police and showing support for their efforts to protect fans from scams.
