On July 6, 2023, Korean pop singer Lee Sang-eun was mysteriously found dead right before she was expected to perform on the stage. She is the third singer in three months whose sudden death has shaken the industry.
According to Times Now Digital, Sang-eun was supposed to perform at the 33rd Regular Concert of the Gimcheon Municipal Choir, but she wasn’t found backstage. When the team went to search for her, she was found in the washroom. The singer was taken to the nearest hospital, where the doctors examined and declared her dead.

News 1 has reported that the police are investigating Sang-eun’s death. On Thursday, July 6, 2023, the staff found her unconscious on the bathroom floor on the third floor.
A report published by the Deadline states that the police have established the cause of the death, and are not suspecting any foul play behind it.

Lee Sang-eun was a popular name in the Korean music industry as well as in Japan. Her stage name was Lee Tzsche. Born in March 1970, the singer made her debut at the MBC Riverside Music Festival in 1988. She was spotted maintaining a unisex look, but reports suggested that she was not happy with her career. Therefore, she took a sabbatical and went to study art in Japan and the US.

Her eighth album ‘Lee Tzsche’ (1997) was released worldwide. It had older and new songs in English, making her a sensation across the globe. ‘fLoW’ was her last album to be released in 2019.
