The essence of peppermint is taken out and converted into oil to make peppermint oil. Modern distillation methods provide stronger peppermint oils than older extraction methods. These oils are also known as essential oils. Essential peppermint oils are advantageous for cleaning, personal care, and wellness. This oil contains the component menthol, which gives it its flavour, aroma, and cooling effect. Peppermint essential oil has a cooling effect. It can help soothe itching, thus relieving itchy and dry scalps. It also helps promote hair growth. A study showed that 3% peppermint essential oil could thicken the hair follicles in mice compared to minoxidil, an FDA-approved drug for hair loss. Take a look at how to use peppermint oil for strong and healthy hair growth.
