Monsoon is the time when we all start worrying about our hair. Because of changes in the climatic conditions, our hair starts falling frequently. Monsoon weather disturbs the pH balance of the scalp and leads to hair loss. Dr. Prerna Taneja, Medical Director of Clinic Eximus, shared some monsoon hair care tips with us. Read along to know:
1.Wash your hair regularly with water and shampoo every alternate day.
2.After every shampoo, the conditioning is a must, it detangles the hair and makes it manageable to comb, thus decreasing the breakage.
3.Do not tie wet hair as it leads to accumulation of heat and damages your hair.
4. It is advisable to get your hair trimmed every 5-6 weeks. This will remove all the dead hair and help bring out a fresh layer of gorgeous hair.
5. Nourish your hair frequently with homemade remedies like warm oil massages, egg white masks etc.
6. Take a necessary care of your diet. A diet rich in protein, omega 3 fatty acid, and biotin is crucial for the health of your hair.
7. Pick the right shampoo, seeing its contents. Make sure you use a sulphate free and sodium chloride free shampoo.
8.During head baths, ensure that extreme water temperature is not used as it dries away the scalp leading to damage the hair.
9. It is advisable not to wash hair with hard water, ensure that at least you take the last rinse with soft water.
10. Swimming in chlorine filtered waters can have a negative impact on your hair. Ensure that your head is covered with a waterproof cap.
11. Experimenting with hot styling tools can have negative effects on your hair. Make sure you do not use these styling treatments frequently.
12. It is better to avoid all kinds of cosmetics like gels and styling cremes on your hair, in the long run as they damage your hair badly.
13. Invest in nourishing medical treatments that take care of your scalp by providing micronutrients to the hair follicles.
These small steps, go a long way to healthier hair. A small-time invested in the right diet, the right therapy helps you grow your hair stronger and healthier.
