Winter season is here and as usual, keeping your skin hydrated can be a daunting task. However, we asked our expert, Dr Nirumpama Parwanda, MBBS, MD in Dermatology from Zolie Skin Clinic, to share some tips for skin hydration in winter.
Dr Parwanda said, "Winter’s crisp air often brings dry, flaky skin, but with the right care, you can maintain a hydrated, radiant complexion. Start by switching to rich moisturisers containing ceramides or squalane to lock in moisture and strengthen your skin barrier."
1. "Enhance hydration by applying your moisturiser on damp skin after cleansing. Incorporate nourishing oils like argan or rosehip for an extra boost," said the expert.
2. Dr Nirumpama said, "Your cleansing routine also needs an upgrade. Replace harsh, astringent cleansers with gentle, hydrating options featuring ingredients like glycerin or oatmeal. A humidifier can be your skin’s best friend during winter—place one in key rooms to maintain moisture levels in the air, preventing skin dehydration."
3. "For advanced hydration, consider treatments like Profhilo and Viscoderm. Profhilo, with ultrapure hyaluronic acid, deeply hydrates the skin while stimulating collagen and elastin production, leaving it plump and glowing. Viscoderm Hydrobooster goes a step further, combining hydration with wrinkle-smoothing and elasticity enhancement, especially around delicate areas like the eyes and mouth," shared Dr Parwanda.
4. "Lastly, don’t skip sunscreen; UV rays can still damage your skin in winter. Pair your routine with a diet rich in seasonal produce and omega-3s to support your skin’s health from within. For personalized care, consult a dermatologist to tailor treatments to your skin’s needs," concluded the doctor.

I found that this cream makes my skin glow and look healthy and radiating after only using it for a week. However, if you use too much of it, it can lead to oil buildup in your T-zone. While it says day cream, you can also use it at night as a part of your skincare routine. I highly recommend it to especially those with sensitive skin just like I do because honestly, I am very scared to try new products as my skin barely ever reacts positively to them. This time, me and my skin were thoroughly impressed!
