The festival of Karwa Chauth is almost here and it is one of the most significant ones for married women who follow the Hindu tradition. On this day, they dress up in their best attires and put on Solah Shringar to look their best for their husbands and the preparations for this day start about a month in advance from shopping to skincare. However, some busy moms find it difficult to follow a detailed skincare routine. Well, worry no more! Our expert, Kiran Bhatt, cosmetologist, nutritionist, and the vice president of Junoesque, shared a step-by-step skincare regimen for those busy with their children. Scroll down to know more.
Skincare For Busy Moms Celebrating Karwa Chauth
Kiran said, “With the hectic schedule of today's smart moms who balance the responsibility of home and kids, spending such lengthy hours on skincare is like a luxury. If properly done, this procedure will keep you glimmering and glowing throughout the long day of fasting followed by celebrations on Karwa Chauth.”
Start With Hydration
While fasting, the dehydration will immediately give your face a blurry and tired look. “Hydration is essential to make your skin glow. Drink plenty of water, coconut water, fresh fruit juice, or buttermilk before you start the fast. It helps you maintain a good energy level and helps your skin remain moist throughout the day,” said Bhatt.
Morning Skin Care Routine
Cleansing: Kiran said that you should use a mild cleaner to remove dirt or impurities from your skin. “A good hydrating cleanser does not strip the skin's natural oils,” she added.
Serum: “After your face is thoroughly cleansed, you have to hydrate and nourish your skin with a serum full of antioxidants like Vitamin C to refresh and rejuvenate your skin,” said Bhatt.
Moisturising: After that, use a lightweight, hydrating moisturiser to lock the moisture in. Some ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin keep your skin plump and hydrated all day long.

Sunscreen: Bhatt said, “Even if you spend most of your time indoors, sunscreen is a must since it protects your skin from harmful UV rays which cause premature ageing or sun damage.
Face Masks For An Instant Glow
A homemade face mask can be nothing short of a miracle for busy mothers during the festive season“Take equal parts honey and yoghurt and mix well, this has to be one of the most hydrating and skin-brightening homemade masks that leaves your skin soft. The honey moisturises your skin while the yoghurt gently exfoliates it. “If not, a pinch of milk mixed with turmeric powder is a paste for an instant glow. The anti-inflammatory quality present in turmeric will bring softness while the hydration effect will be provided by milk,” shared Kiran.
Night Cream
After cleansing your face and applying the serum, apply a night cream regularly. This will help you lock the moisture in while you're sleeping.
Kiran’s Tip:"Ahead of bedtime, either use a jade roller or a cold spoon to depuff your face and give your skin a nice massage."
