We all know that one way to protect ourselves from the dreaded Covid-19 is to clean our hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitiser and also scrub them several times a day with soap and water. Both these methods can make the skin of the hands really dry, even leading to flaking and peeling of the skin. Actually, the skin on the back of the hands is thin and lacks oil glands. That is why the hands are prone to wrinkles and lines. The nails also become dry and brittle, breaking or chipping easily. So along with protecting ourselves from the new disease, we also need to protect our hands.
Taking Care Of Hands Before Bath And After Bath
It is best to pamper your hands and moisturise them well. Before going for a bath, take some warm oil and massage on your hands well. You can use coconut or almond oil. This will make your hands soft and smooth.
After taking a bath, take some moisturising cream and apply it all over your skin. Do this when your skin is still damp. This will help you seal the moisture.
You can indulge in a pre-bath treatment two times a week by mixing powdered almonds with curd and a pinch of turmeric. Mix well and apply on your hands. Start rubbing the paste gently and then wash off after 15 minutes.
Before going to sleep, take some cream on your hands and massage it well to soak in the skin.
