If summers come, can tanning be left behind? With the cold winters completely behind us, the scorching summers have arrived, and so does the tension of getting suntanned! Even if you choose to apply sunscreen or cover up, you cannot escape from the harsh attack of the UV rays. No matter how hard you try, there’s no avoiding the sun. So scroll down to find out, how you can protect yourself from it.
Don’t Forget Using SPF
Make SPF your BFF. Apply sunscreen before 15 to 30 mins heading outside. For best protection, experts recommend applying an ounce of sunscreen SPF 15 and reapplying it after 2 hours. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen on your lips, bald spot, ears, feet, hands, and the back of the neck. You should use an ounce of sunscreen on a daily basis, but use more if you are going swimming or running.
Avoid Stepping Out During Peak Hours
Before 10 am the sun will give you vitamin D, later the sun will give you only tanning! The sun rays are strongest between 10 am to 4 pm, so avoid stepping out at this time. If you are stepping out, wear bright colours and light fabrics, like rayon.
Caretone Supplement Dosage
The daily dosage of a 25g caretone supplement will boost the skin’s natural defense system against UV rays.
Apply Bottle Gourd Juice
Bottle gourd (lauki) juice helps in removal of tanning. It is the most effective way of removing tanning. Applylaukijuice on the tanned area, 3 to 4 times a day and see the difference.
Exfoliation
Exfoliation scrapes away the dead skin cells that accumulate on the skin. Scrubbing the body with a homemade exfoliation scrub or cosmetic scrub can lighten your skin. Dead skin cells protect your skin from tanning, so avoid going out once you exfoliate. Going out once you exfoliate makes you more susceptible to sunburn, skin damage, and tanning.
Wear Sunglasses And A Hat
Don’t forget to wear your sunglasses and hat for cover. The skin around your eyes and neck is extra sensitive to the sun and needs protection. So wear glasses which gives 100% protection against UV rays.
Wear The Right Fabric
Wear full sleeves loose fitting clothes. Before going out- make sure you are wearing a closely woven fabric. It’ll protect your skin from harsh sun rays.

Watch The UV Index
Before going out, check the UV Index on news or weather websites. It’ll provide you important information about the UV rays and how much damage it’ll cause to your skin. Plan your outdoor activities according to the UV index.
Aloe Vera
According to a study, aloe vera suppress the release of melanin and reduces pigmentation, and protects you from tanning.
Reapply Sunscreen
Always carry your sunscreen with you. If you are outside, reapply it after every 2 hours, and if you are sweating then apply it every hour.
Staying safe from the sun and UV radiation is possible if you follow the above-given points!
