Perfumes are an addiction, a personality, a reflection of a person, an aura of a being and many other facets which exude a lot. It is one of the most subjective topics there is. An interesting fact about perfume is that every fragrance smells different on different people. While you might find something too sweet, another might find it musky. These days, making your own perfume is a major trend, which is made using differentmaterials like beeswax, essential oils etc. Here is a list of some ways of making your own signature fragrance:
Water Based Perfume
In this method, all you need is oil, vodka, distilled water and essential oils. You’ll need at least 3 differentscents for your top, middle and base notes. Start by combing a small amount of oil to find a combination you like, using 20% from top notes, 50% from middle notes and 30% from base notes. When you like what you smell, you can balance it out by diluting it with either water or a carrier oil.

Solid perfume is simple to make with oil, beeswax and essential oils. What you need is aratio of 2 parts oil to 1 part beeswax seems to create the right consistency. Let the perfume stay in the container and easily melt into your skin, otherwise, it feels too much like a lotion bar. Melt your beeswax and oil together and add about few drops of essential oil per tablespoon of oil/beeswax mixture. You may add it as per your liking. When you are done, pour into a small container and let it sit until fully hardened. Then it is ready to use.
Roll On
A very easy method, pour carrier oil into a glass bottle and get yourself some jojoba oil. For every tablespoon of jojoba oil, add between about 10 drops of your essential oil blend. The proportions can vary depending upon the essential oils you use.

Making an infused cologne is fun because you get to watch it develop. You can infuse dried herbs and flowers or use fresh if you have extras in your garden. Comb the herbs with vodka and let everything sit for a couple of weeks in a dark place (we suggest). Then strain out the herb bits and put the liquid in a pretty container.
