Rice flour contains compounds that help weaken hair follicles and inhibit hair growth over time. Our expert, Sanath Dutta, Herbal Solution Expert & Co-founder, Eliea Wellness, shared some valuable inputs. Here's how you can use rice flour effectively as a facial hair removal remedy:
Prepare the mixture
Start by mixing rice flour with other natural ingredients that enhance its hair-removal properties. Combine two tablespoons of rice flour with a tablespoon of milk or yoghurt. Optionally, add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a few drops of honey. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, while honey moisturizes the skin.
Create a paste
Mix the ingredients thoroughly until you achieve a smooth, consistent paste. Adjust the quantities as needed to get the right consistency. The paste should be thick enough to adhere to your skin but still spreadable.
Cleanse your face
Before applying the paste, cleanse your face thoroughly to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup (Permanent Makeup Trend). This ensures better absorption of the rice flour mixture and prevents clogged pores.
Apply the paste
Using your fingers or a facial brush, apply the rice flour paste evenly to the areas of your face with unwanted hair. Spread a thick layer of the mixture and make sure it covers the hair completely.
Leave it on
Allow the paste to dry on your face for about 20-30 minutes. During this time, the rice flour and other ingredients penetrate the hair follicles and weaken the hair shafts.

Massage and rinse
After the paste has dried, wet your fingers and gently massage the dried paste in circular motions. This helps exfoliate the skin and remove the dried paste along with the unwanted hair. Rinse your face thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Moisturise
Pat your face dry with a soft towel and apply a gentle moisturiser to soothe the skin. Avoid using harsh chemicals or alcohol-based products immediately after hair removal, as they can irritate the skin.
Repeat regularly
For best results, repeat this process 2-3 times a week. Over time, you may notice a reduction in facial hair growth as the hair follicles become weaker and less active.
Using rice flour for facial hair removal is a gentle and natural alternative to harsh chemical treatments. However, individual results may vary, and consistency is key to achieving noticeable effects over time.
