Make Your Own Eyebrow Gel At Home Using 2 Ingredients

If there is one makeup trend which I feel is here to stay is thick, bushy eyebrows. There was a time when perfectly shaped, thin brows were a thing but no more. Wherever you go, now you only talk about brow palettes and gels to get those thick brows.

While it is much easier for women who have natural, good growth of the brows, many other are blessed with thin brow hair. There are a variety of eyebrow products available in the market today and you can really fix it up with some makeup. However, if you have used an eyebrow palette before, you know it is a huge task and quite time consuming. If you are always on the go and wish for a magic makeup product that can give you thick looking lashes quickly then this guide is for you.

How To Make Your Own Eyebrow Gel?

If you find eyebrow gels available in the market expensive, you can make one for your own at home using just 2 ingredients.

You Will Need

• Brown/Black Eyeshadow Powder
• Petroleum Jelly Or Aloe Vera Gel

Directions

• Scrape out some brown and black colour from the eyeshadow palette and transfer to a bowl. If you have lighter brows, you can mix dark brown and a nude shade. You can mix and match colours from the brown and black family to get your shade.

• Add in petroleum jelly. Mix well to give it a paste like consistency. You can add petroleum jelly accordingly.
• If you don't have petroleum jelly, you can use aloe vera gel. Scrape it fresh from the plant or use a readymade one. Mix well.
• Dip the spoolie in the mix and test. Transfer to a bottle/container and homemade brow gel is ready for use. Place in the refrigerator.
• Both the eyeshadow and petroleum jelly are commonly used in our beauty routines so you don't really have to spend on buying any fancy ingredients.
• Make sure you do a patch test of the brow gel on your hand to see if you have got the colour that works for you. You can add some more eyeshadow powder to the mix if you wish to darken the gel.

Tips For Using A Brow Gel

1. Always brush your eyebrows with a spoolie first to set them in one place.
2. Use the brow gel first in the center and move it outwards. Finish off with using it on the inner brow. The middle and end of brow are usually darker.
3. Once you have applied the brow gel, let it set. Then using a clean spoolie, brush your eyebrows upwards to shape them.
4. To ensure that the brow gel stays in for a longer time, use a tissue paper to dab on it. This will help remove excess product.
5. Use a concealer above and below your brows to clean the area and highlight your brows.
6. Remember that overfilling your brows just to make your eyebrows bushy can actually ruin your look. Less is more! Use less amount of product but spread it well to make your eyebrows look thicker.
