If you too find it tricky to ace the makeup base every single time then you have landed on the right page. I recently attended a makeup workshop where celebrated makeup artist, Franky hosted a detailed session on achieving a rosy makeup look. Most of us struggle when it comes to doing a flawless base and that’s why the MUA shared a couple of tips on pulling off one. So, I thought of sharing all those tips here with you. Keep these in mind if you too find it challenging to ace the base.
Clean Your Skin
Cleansing makes a whole lot of difference when it comes to achieving that perfect base for your makeup. You should always begin your makeup after a good cleanse. This can be done according to your skin type or convenience. For instance, if you don't wish to follow a proper cleansing with a face wash, you can use a makeup cleanser. Take some on a cotton pad and move it in circular motions all over your face and neck. This will help you remove all the dirt, oil or impurities accumulated on the face. If you wish to clean your face with a face wash, make sure you use a cleanser that works for your skin type and doesn't strip off the natural oils of your skin.
Hydrate
It is crucial to hydrate your skin by using just the right ingredients. Make sure you use moisturising products like hydrating serum, cream or moisturiser that keeps your skin soft and smooth. This step will help you keep your concealer, foundation and powder intact for a long time. If you don't hydrate your skin before, your makeup might start to get patchy.

Remember, Less Is More
Your foundation or concealer will help you with an even base and cover your pigmentation. However, MUA Franky shared that you should be careful when it comes to the quantity of the product used. She shared that one should follow the “less is more” approach. Blend the concealer/foundation well into your skin and layer if required. She suggested using concealer over the eyelids too as it helps keep the eye makeup in place.

Don’t Forget The Powder
The expert shared that using a loose powder or setting powder is an underrated step but one shouldn't skip this one at all. This one quick addition to your makeup routine can do wonders for your makeup base. The expert suggested dabbing in some powder all over your face and eyelids too to keep the makeup stay for a long period of time. A powder doesn't let your makeup base move. It also reduces excess oil from your face. So, for all those who suffer from that oil shine on the T-zone minutes after doing their makeup, this one trick will do the magic for you. It is a must for all makeup looks – be it a glossy or matte one. The expert suggested using banana powder if it works for your skin type.
