Ingredients For Tinted Lip Balm Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon organic beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa butter
  • ½ tablespoon Shea butter
  • ¼ tsp manuka honey or raw honey
  • 3-4 drops vitamin e oil
  • 1 tsp extra virgin organic coconut oil
  • ½ tsp almond oil
  • ½ tablespoon avocado oil

Additions Ingredients (optional)

  • 2-3 drops of pure organic orange essential oil + 1 pod vanilla bean
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint extract oil (non-water based)
  • ⅓ teaspoon grated cocoa powder
  • pinch of finely grated cinnamon
  • thin sliver of bright lipstick or ½ tsp of Mica powder

Steps To Make Tinted Lip Balm

  1. Fill a shallow bowl with 2-3 inches of water. Place a measuring cup or glass jar containing beeswax into the simmering water.
  2. Stir the beeswax with a wooden stick until fully melted. Add cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, and almond oil. Continue stirring until all ingredients are completely melted.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in essential oils, chosen colourant (e.g., Mica powder, lipstick), vanilla bean, cinnamon, or cocoa.
  4. Pour the mixture into lip balm tubes or tins. Let cool and harden at room temperature.
  5. Use immediately or refrigerate for 2 weeks to allow flavours to mature. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 years.
