Being stuck at home is not fun for anyone. This quarantine or self-isolation has lead to a huge usage of our internet for calling and video calling people who love to be very social and meet people and party. Not just that, those on work from home have begun doing a lot of video calls and conferences as well. If you are worried about how you look on those calls as we all sit in our pajamas at home, here are a few tips specifically for video calling that will come in handy.
Use Natural Light
Light plays a very important role on how your pictures will look. So make sure that you face natural light and the source of light should be opposite you, behind the camera. You can also redirect a beam of light from your desktop lamp to make it reflect on the walls first before it hits your face. Avoid a yellow cast on your face by not pointing it straight at your face.
Face Depuff
If you have a bloated face when you wake up and have to do a video call then rub some ice on your face or take a roller and keep it in the fridge for 15 minutes and then roll it over your face.
Skin Correction
At home, we hardly put on makeup or when we live in a joint family we have to put on some makeup sometimes so just a little bit of base makeup is enough. But when you have to do a video call, it is necessary for the screen , that you make some colour correction. Prep your skin with a moisturiser, and if you have redness the use a colour corrector and concealer which goes with your skin tone. Do conceal those dark circles.
Eye Makeup
When we are tired and haven't got enough sleep, it reflects clearly on the camera. So use makeup to its fullest here. Apply some shimmery eyeshadow on your lids and use a darker colour on the crease of your eye. Opt for a well-pigmented formula. This will make you look less tired.
Eye Lashes
Before you apply mascara, curl your lashes with a curler as it widens your eyes and makes you look more awake.
Highlight Inner Corners Of Eyes
This trick adds a lot of liveness to your eyes. You can use a highlighter also on your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and a little on the highest point of your chin. This gives you an instant facelift.

Don't forget The Blush
Just add a little blush to your cheekbones. Try a creamy blush as it adds more youthfulness to your entire look. It looks very natural on the camera as well.
Lip colour
Add a little colour to your lips. Bring pale lips to life to avoid looking dull and like a corpse on video. Take atinted lip balm and if a gloss can be added as it freshens up the face.
Hair
If you have greasy hair then apply a dry shampoo on the roots. Smoothen those roots and style it a little to look prim and proper on the screen.
