Whether women can chant Hanuman Chalisa during their menstrual periods is a subject of differing opinions. According to Astrologer Dr Virender Sahni, and as supported by traditional scriptures, it is generally advised that women should avoid chanting Hanuman Chalisa during this time. This belief stems from the fact that Lord Hanuman is revered as a ‘Bal Brahmachari’ (eternal celibate), and adherence to certain spiritual guidelines is emphasised during devotion.
“While these traditional views persist, devotion is a deeply personal act, and its essence lies in faith and intent. Ultimately, individual beliefs and practices may vary, and one’s connection with divinity is not confined to strict rules,” said Dr Virender Sahni, Vedic, KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati), Naadi, Numerologist, Tarot Card Reader.
