From Belgium To Scotland, This Bike-Riding Couple’s Love For Travel Knows No Bounds!

Yogeshwar and Sushma Bhalla have been married for almost 40 years and are popularly known as Yogi and Sushi. Even now, the couple's mutual love for travel and eagerness to go on the next great adventure is a common thread that binds them together. While arranged marriages allow couples to spend time getting to know one another, the Bhallas found that travel was the ideal icebreaker.

Bitten By The Travel Bug

Sushma said that she used to be a very studious person, but that after marrying Yogeshwar, she began to enjoy travelling as well. Yogeshwar Bhalla said that they've travelled to 22 countries and around India and that they're a biker couple. Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla are greeted by Ranveer. Yogeshwar expressed his desire to travel for the rest of his life. In all of these endeavours, their loyal companion has been their beloved bullet.

Love At First Sight

Talking about their love, Yogeshwar Balla said, “I was a wanderer, while Mrs Bhalla was a very studious girl. Ours was an arranged marriage. When my family and I went to see her, what I immediately liked was how beautifully she sang.” Sushma then won his heart by singing the song Ab To Hai Tumse Har Khushi Apni from the film Abhimaan (1973).

Talking about their love for travel, Yogeshwar Bhalla said, “We have enjoyed every moment spent on the road. These travels have given us memories to last our entire lifetime.”

Early Retirement

Talking about their early retirement, Yogeshwar further told the media, “Soon after my retirement, we rode through Bhutan, Nepal, Leh and Ladakh. That trip did wonders for our dwindling confidence. It pushed us to explore more. Our next trip was to Europe. We did not leave any stone unturned in making sure we enjoyed every bit of our travel. From recreating iconic Bollywood film poses in the Swiss Alps to enjoying candle light dinners, we did it all.”

The Couple On Ranveer’s Reality Show

The couple were seen on Ranveer Singh’s reality show where they awed the audience by their love for travel and their zest for life. In the show, Sushma brought a motorcycle jacket and gloves as a gift for Ranveer Singh. The actor was overjoyed and expressed his gratitude for their gift. Sushma and Ranveer even playfully took a jibe at Yogeshwar by pretending to be riding a motorcycle and making him jealous.

Yogeshwar and Sushma eventually won 5 lakhs rupees in the show. The show concluded with Ranveer, Yogeshwar, and Sushma dancing to 'Tujhpe Qurban Meri Jaan,' and everyone praised the evergreen couple for their upbeat performance.
