Ved Teaser: Riteish Deshmukh Debuts As Director

On Thursday, the teaser of the upcoming Marathi film Ved directed by actor Riteish Deshmukh was released. The film will mark Deshmukh's debut as a director. The film stars Riteish Deshmukh and his wife and actor Genelia D'Souza in the lead role.

Sharing the teaser on social media, Deshmukh wrote in Marathi, “A new journey is starting. My first step in directing. A little eagerness in the mind ..a little fear ... but a lot of madness.

Hope you like it. May there be blessings and love”. He continued in English, “Madness from my heart to yours - presenting ‘VED’ - my first directorial Marathi film. #ved30dec.”

The teaser begins with featuring Riteish by a seashore and later can be seen fighting and strolling around Mumbai's streets while sporting a sombre and worn-out appearance. The teaser concludes by featuring Genelia coming out of an auto with an umbrella wearing a simple cotton saree and trying to extend the umbrella towards the former.

The upcoming film Ved will mark Genelia D'Souza’s comeback to the big screen. On October 26, she shared posters of the film and wrote in Marathi, “I was born in Maharashtra. After I started acting, I did films in different languages like Hindi-Tamil-Telugu. I got immense love from the audience there. I am making my Marathi film debut with Ritesh's first directorial venture. Working in Marathi, I feel like I have come full circle.”

D'Souza will also star in the upcoming Bollywood film Mister Mummy along with her husband Riteish Deshmukh. Mister Mummy is a comedy-drama movie directed by Shaad Ali. It is a story about a couple with opposing choices about children but destiny has something else planned for the childhood sweethearts.

D'Souza was last seen in the lead role in the 2012 film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. During her 10 years of absence from the big screen, she featured in cameo appearances in films like Force 2 and Jai Ho.
