Dr Raviraj Ahirrao, Co-Founder, Vastu Raviraj says that Covid has changed and disrupted how the world functions. What was normal earlier has become redundant in these two months. People are forced to think new and alternatives to function, staying fit and healthy being one of them. While it is very important to maintain social distancing and personal hygiene along with following protocols, it is equally essential to go back to the roots of our Indian traditions and take valuable inputs to have a healthy lifestyle amidst this pandemic.

We all know the importance of having a clean home and it is especially important during this pandemic. Cleaning the house and its perimeters are important so that germs and such microbes are removed. When dust, dirt, and other forms of clutter are removed it generates positive energy which in turn makes the mind positive and charged.

Ample sunrays, especially the morning sunlight, should be allowed to enter freely in our households. On one hand, they make us feel a lot more positive and on the other hand, they help in killing germs which could get accumulated.

Pranayama and Surya namaskar (in Yoga) are the two important means to improve our resistance power. Also people should regularly meditate to keep the mind calm and avoid unwanted anxiety and tension.

To stay fit people should practice a special method of breathing (as practiced in Yoga). In this method the passage of air is intentionally hindered through the left nostril and breath is only taken through the right nostril for some time. This helps in increasing the body temperature and protects the body from catching common cold, which can make one vulnerable to COVID-19.

North of North-east zone in the house should have a lot of open space and least amount of clutter. North east is the ideal zone for God which improves flow of positive energies.

To neutralise negative energy in the house burning of camphor in different parts of the house is really helpful. The smell of burning camphor is also good which gives a very nice and auspicious feel to the environment

People suffering from any kind of ailment should stay in a room in the North of North-East region of the house.

People should consume Neem leaves since it helps in purifying the blood as per Ayurveda. It triggers physical stamina to great heights. It also helps in boosting the immune system.

We should also look at our surrounding environment because they are also responsible for our wellbeing. Pictures of cruelty, violence and disasters should be strictly avoided. Similarly, pictures of volcanoes, or tsunami or a shipwreck in a storm etc., should be avoided since all these usher negative energies which affect our mental health.

Colours play a very vital role in our mental wellbeing. The color blue should be used in the North and North-East region of the house and green color in the East region. This helps in the inflow of wealth and also improves health and brings clarity of thoughts which helps in ushering creativity in every aspect of life.

It is vital to keep our body and mind strong during these trying times. Other than eating properly we should also practice the above tips which will help us stay fit and healthy. These tips will bring positive energies within our body and also propagate positive vibrations within the house. This can ultimately help in improving our immunity which is the most important factor to fight this deadly disease.
