Below, we provide a list of their names.

Donuru Ananya Reddy- AIR 3

Donuru Ananya Reddy, hailing from the remote village of Ponnekal in Addakul mandal within Telangana’s Mahabubnagar district, clinched the prestigious third rank nationwide in the CSE-2023 organised by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Except for Anthropology, a subject she was unfamiliar with, she refrained from attending coaching classes for the other subjects in the Civil Services Examination. Ananya pursued a BA (Honours) in geology from Delhi University’s Miranda House College and commenced her UPSC exam preparation in Hyderabad following her graduation in 2021. Remarkably, she successfully cleared the examinations on her first attempt.

Reflecting on her journey, Ananya shared, “Right from my childhood, I had this idea in my mind. I was introduced to the UPSC by my grandfather. So I always had that seed in me. When I started looking for career opportunities after completing my graduation, I realised that civil services will provide me a very unique blend—I can serve my country and I will also have the opportunity of having administrative duties. This blend attracted me towards the UPSC,” she said in an interview with Indian Express.

Ruhani- AIR 5

Making it into the top 10 is 28-year-old Ruhani from Gurgaon, achieving an impressive all-India rank of five on her sixth attempt at the UPSC exam. Ruhani's educational journey includes schooling at a private institution in Gurgaon, followed by pursuing a Bachelor’s in Economics (Honours) from Delhi University’s St Stephen’s College. She furthered her academic pursuits by obtaining a Master’s degree in Economics from IGNOU in 2019. Subsequently, Ruhani gained valuable experience as an Assistant Director at NITI Ayog for three years, having successfully cleared the Indian Economic Service exam. In her fifth attempt at the UPSC exam last year, she secured a position in the Indian Police Service and was undergoing training in Hyderabad, as reported by Indian Express.
