All generations have been in the field of acting from the time of Prithviraj Kapoor, who was the first one from the family to be a part of the film fraternity. He was born in 1906 in the town of Samundri in Punjab Province, British India. Surprisingly, his father, Basheshwarnath Kapoor, was a police officer in Peshawar while his grandfather, Keshavmal Kapoor, was a revenue officer in Samundri, Punjab, British India.
