Paridhi Sharma, who is essaying the character of Babita in Sony Entertainment Television’s show ‘Patiala Babes’ shared, “Independence and Republic Day hold a very special place in my heart. Like every year this year as well I will start my day by watching the Prime Minister’s speech and then saluting our national flag. My country and my culture are my pride and I have deepest regards for all the freedom fighters. I always remember owing our freedom to them. One of my fondest memory is the one when I saw that my father was in tears while he was listening to patriotic songs. His emotions towards the country touched me deeply. It was an undefinable moment of feeling the love and pride for the nation, which sank in me effortlessly.”

Being Together With Family

“26th January is a special day for all Indians as on this day in 1950, India adopted its new constitution and became the Republic of India. When we were in school, this day meant watching the traditional parade at Rajpath on TV, hearing inspiring and moving speeches and of course distributing sweets. Now, when we are celebrating our 69th Republic Day this year, I hope I am able to make my children feel the same pride and joy that I always felt in celebrating this day. I make it a point to watch the parade on television with the whole family since it brings us all together as one. There is an automatic sense of patriotism and tremendous pride while watching the parade and hearing the speeches and this is important to be encouraged in our children as well. So both I and my husband will keep the tradition of being together with the family on Republic Day as long as we are there, and hope the kids take the tradition forward. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!,” shared actor Archana Puran Singh who plays Pammy in Sony Sab’s My Name Ijj Lakhan.

Sneha Wagh who currently playing Mura in Sony Entertainment Television’s show ‘Chandragupta Maurya’ said, “Usually, Republic and Independence Days are very special for me because I’m a patriotic type. The feeling of pride and love for country is always there, but it increases during these days. Mostly, this year we would be on the sets and we would hoist the flag there. The best memories are of when we were in school and we celebrated with all the friends and teachers and it included singing, dance performances and I was always very active in these cultural activities. Also, we did the same in my society in Mumbai, so, either I used to be performing a dance or singing and it used to be a teamwork. We used to sing patriotic songs on the top of our voices.”
