Karan Johar and Punit Malhotra will be back with all the masti and more with Student Of The Year 2. Although we will miss the camaraderie shared by Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in the first instalment, all eyes are on the fresh students Ananya Pandey, Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria plus a bunch of other exciting stuff in the movie. A Change Of Direction
While Students Of The Year was entirely Karan Johar’s baby as he directed it and it was produced by his mother Hiroo Yash Johar and good friend Gauri Khan, SOTY 2 will be directed by Punit Malhotra and he has written the story as well.
Role Reversal
SOTY featured two guys pining for the same girl. Part two will see Tara Sutaria as Mia and Ananya Pandey as Shreya vying for the attention of a Tiger Shroff, who, according to reports, is going to play the role of a specially-abled person named Rohan in the movie.

Hollywood Star Will Smith To Shake a Leg In A Dance Number
While SOTY had special appearances by Karan Johar’s buddies in The Disco Song by Kajol, Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant, Student Of the Year 2 plans to take it up a notch. A remix song in the movie will see Hollywood star Will Smith dance away with the students. Reportedly it will bea remix of the popular song Ye Jawani Hai Deewani. Not only this, Alia Bhatt and other ex-students Varun and Sidharth are also going to make an appearance in the opening credits of the movie.
A Bollywood Comeback For Two
As per the Instagram post by actress Gul Panag, she was at the shooting of Student Of The Year 2 so in all probability, she will be making a comeback with the movie after her pregnancy. According to some reports, Prateik Babbar will also make a comeback in the movie.

Rishi Kapoor Replaced By Sameer Soni
Rishi Kapoor had famously played the role of former principal Dean Yogendra Vashisht, a gay character, in the movie who was crazy after a sports coach in SOTY. This time around the role will be played by Sameer Soni but apparently, he is not playing a gay character. Rishi’s role was panned for showing a whimsical and wrong image of gay men by the LGBT community. Could that be the reason why they chose to play it safe this time?
Tara Sutaria’s Look Gets Trolled By Netizens
After Dharma Productions released the poster revealing the looks of the students in the movie, there was initial excitement about the three which quickly gave way to trollers making fun of Tara Sutaria’s outfit for being too glamorous. Most netizens were left wondering which school girl wears silvery shorts and body huggingtop to school. They also pointed out that she would have been fined if she had worn this outfit to school.
