Adopting a pet is the move you could make and when celebs show it on social media, it somehow convinces us as well to follow in their footsteps. Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra made a similar move by showing the newest member of her house which in a way chose her.
Apparently, a parrot had fallen from its nest and landed on Shilpa Shetty's house. The actress immediately took it in as her pet and has named it Poppy. The actress shared a sweet video saying that she has never met such a friendly parrot. She captioned the Instagram video: “We found #poppy (name in transit) in our home (dunno if it’s a male/female) was rescued by my staff on Friday night. She must’ve fallen from her nest that’s on the almond tree in my garden. She fluttered her wings but couldn’t fly fully...Feels like a soul I know who’s trying to communicate... She’s soo adorable ... Going to set her free as soon as she’s ready... but had to share this video of how friendly this parrot is...#birds #poppylove #sign #goodtidings #love #gratitude #parrotsofinstagram.”
Besides Shilpa, even actor Randeep Hooda is an ardent lover of animals especially dogs and horses. Horses we understand as he is also an equestrian but a dog lover for sure as he earlier had a white stray named Candy, whom I personally loved as well and after she passed away, Randeep gave a home to a new puppy last year whom he again named Candy. In a number of videos, the actor has given this message out that it is good to adopt and not shop.

Other examples we can give you are that of actress Anju Mahendru and singer Anushka Manchanda who support foundations that sensitise people towards animal adoption.
Actor Tusshar Kapoor has adopted a few dogs and has told media before that: “My father (actor Jeetendra) pampers them, too. Ekta (his sister) and I love them. Dogs are like children and deserve to be treated with affection and care. I think more people need to adopt strays and have them sterilised. It will curb an increase in the population of strays."
Actress Tanishaa Mukerji has adopted stray dogs. Vanita, wife of art director Omung Kumar, has said earlier that adopting their cats (5) was the best decision they ever made. She said: “When we found them, they were in pain — one had a twisted neck while another had an injured tail. Once they recovered, we couldn’t bear to part with them."
If such the zeal of the celebs then why should we buy such expensive breeds who are not even suitable for our weather in India for starters! They are more like show off breeds and does not show that you love dogs.
