Saraswati Puja falls every year on the auspicious day of Basant Panchami. On this day, goddess Saraswati is worshipped as her devotees pray for wisdom and knowledge from the Goddess of Knowledge. This day also marks the beginning of the spring season when new flowers and leaves start to bloom.

Maa Saraswati Sharde
Starting with a melodious sargam, ‘Maa Saraswati Sharde’ is a Saraswati Vandana that has been sung from the perspective of children who pray to the deity to grant them wisdom and knowledge.

He Sharde Maa
The Hindi Saraswat bhajan ‘He Sharde Maa’ is a prayer song where those who sing tell Goddess Saraswati how naive they are, and ask her to grant them knowledge for better understanding.

Based on Raag Malkauns, ‘Shwet Shotodole’ is a Bengali Saraswati (Facts About Saraswati Puja) Vandana where the goddess is praised for her valour and energy. The song tells Saraswati mata to awaken and provide us all with wisdom.

Based on the famous tune of ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’, ‘Jai Saraswati Maa Aarti’ is an Aarti song to sing while doing puja in front of mata Saraswati on Basant Panchami. It has been sung by Anuradha Paudwal.

Basontika Saraswati Vandana
Yet another Bengali Saraswati bhajan to memorise is ‘Basontika Saraswati Vandana’ which has been sung by the Bengali music sensation Subhamita Banerjee.
