According to a study conducted by Microsoft Corporation in 2015, the average lifespan of Genz was approximately eight seconds owing to the excessive exposure to social media and multiple screens. Undoubtedly, this decreasing attention span is a career, relationships and other aspects of GenZ’s life. Additionally, a recent research conducted by the Walton Family Foundation stated that 42% of GenZ is battling with depression and feelings of hopelessness. The aforementioned data is alarming and it’s dire that we need to address the situation. We spoke to Dr Shri Krishna Kinkar, Shri Krishna Charit Manas (Bhagavat) Kathavachak and Spiritual Orator to understand how spirituality and mindfulness practises can help in curbing this condition.
Here are the ways shared by spiritual coach that can help shape GenZ:
Dr Shri Krishna emphasised that Indian culture boasts several spiritual books that can act as a soul-awakening tool. He recommended reading "Shri Krishna Charit Manas" and many other spiritual books like Bhagavad Geeta for spiritual awakening. He highlighted that by adopting a spiritual mindset, GenZ can empower themselves to deal with challenges in life.
Apart from reading, Kinkar Ji mentioned that spiritual practises like yoga, meditation and pranayama can help GenZ establish a connection with their spirit. These practises will make them eventually realise that "our body is not just a body but a soul."

He highlighted Lord Shri Krishna’s saying which goes like, "The mind is a part of the body. The feelings of joy and sorrow are not the work of the soul but of the body.
