Plants grow from their roots and thus we often look for the same. However several plants grow from their leaves as well. These plants are categorised under the vegetative propagation category. Thus, you don’t have to look for the root parts of these plants. Whether you are planning to amp up your home or you are trying to build a home garden, here are some of the houseplants you can grow from leaves.
The first plant that we have on our list is the Snake plant. It is one of the most popular indoor plants that you can add to your home. The elevated and elongated leaves of the snake plant make it one of the most aesthetically pleasing plants to have in the living room. You can easily take a section of a snake plant’s leaves and sow them in the moist soil. You will soon see shoots of the snake plant coming out.
If the petiole of the African violet plant is attached to healthy leaves then you can sow them in the soil for this plant to grow. You can plant the leaves in a shallow pot with moist soil and ensure indirect sunlight for the plant to thrive.
Spider plant (how to create mini garden at home) produces tiny Spiderettes that have baby plantlets at the top. You can detach these plantlets and place them in the pot containing soil for a new spider plant.
Peperomia features shaded leaves and is one of the most beautiful plants that you can grow from leaves. You can place the petiole of this plant in moist soil or water and allow the leaves to develop roots which will then turn into tiny new plantlets.

Swedish Ivy can be easily propagated from their leaves. You will just need to place the stem cutting with a few leaves of the plant in the water and allow it to develop leaves.
Aloe Vera needs no introduction. Aloe Vera can be easily grown from a single leaf. Cut a healthy leaf from the base and allow the cut to callous over before planting (plants for dining room) it upright in the moist soil.
