Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were snapped outside director Luv Ranjan’s home, presumably to discuss a new project. As soon as their pictures surfaced on social media, her fans started posting tweets with a hashtag #notmydeepika on Twitter. Dp’s fans are not happy and miffed with the actress for working with a filmmaker who has been accused of sexual harassment in the past. They are requesting her to not be a part of the film as last year an actress accused the director of sexual misconduct during the ongoing MeToo movement.
"When you work with an abuser, you not only nullify the attempts of the survivors to finally achieve some justice, you also stain your own legacy as well. You'll lose respect and credentials as an artist @deepikapadukone Don't do this” a fan wrote on Twitter. Another user shared a screenshot of Padmavaat actress's tweet in support of everyone who spoke against their abusers during the MeToo movement.

On a side note if it were for any other actor or actress there would be zero backlash because most of them have zero credibility. Deepika has built a reputation for herself and her ideals. Her fans don’t just stan Deepika the actor but the Deepika the human being #notmydeepika

@deepikapadukone took a strong stand against vikas bahl and blah and she is associating herself with someone like Luv Ranjan. #notmydeepika

I thought you were better than this @deepikapadukone. This is heartbreaking. Why? For what? Is any film worth going against what one stands for? Or was that just talk? #notmydeepika

Since she doesn’t check twitter, is there a way to send our messages to deepika on instagram? Any fanpages she regularly checks/messages she sees? We need to let her knw that we as a fandom are not happy with her choice & are disappointed. #notmydeepika

@deepikapadukone @deepikapadukone you are hurting me. I’ve had so much pride about you always doing the right thing, standing for what’s right, having a backbone of steel. Now what? How did you make it ok for you to meet someone like that?#NotMyDeepika
