The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 on June 4, 2024. NEET Results 2024: Inflation Of Marks
UPDATE 23/06/2024:The scorecards of 1563 students who received grace marks have been cancelled, and the re-exam is being held today from 2–5 PM. The results of this exam will be out on 30th June,2024. However, several students in Gujarat have been protesting against the re-exam as they believe this exam is a "waste of their hardwork."

UPDATE 20/06/2024:In a press release regarding the cancellation of the UGC-NET exams, the Ministry of Education addressed the NEET UG 2024 exams with the following statement: "In the matter pertaining to the NEET(UG) Examination-2024, the issue related to grace marks has already been fully addressed. As regards certain irregularities alleged in the conduct of the examination in Patna, a detailed report has been sought from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police. Government will take further action, on receipt of this report. Government is committed to ensure the sanctity of examinations and protect the interest of students. It is reiterated that any individual/organization found to be involved in this matter will face strictest action.”
UPDATE: The Supreme Court has declared its decision, cancelling and withdrawing the score cards of the 1,563 students who received grace marks.
"These candidates will be informed of their actual scores, without compensatory marks. Re-exam will be conducted for the affected 1563 candidates. The results of those who don't wish to reappear will be declared based on actual marks," the Supreme Court stated.
The retest will be held on June 23 and results will be announced by June 30 to allow counselling to begin from July 6. (Source: Live Law, Bar & Bench)

The NTA declared the NEET 2024 results in record time by announcing it weeks before its anticipated date. What initially stood out as a proud moment for all the young medical aspirants, with a record 67 candidates securing the All India Rank 1, has now sparked a protest against the NTA. According to multiple candidates, there is a significant discrepancy between the marks they received and the ones that were calculated when they checked their OMR sheet, which unfairly affects all candidates.

NEET Results 2024: NTA’s Statement
On June 4th, 2024, when the NTA declared the NEET 2024 results, they also issued a statement about the grace marks policy which read, “NTA received few representations and Court Cases from the candidates of NEET (UG) 2024 raising concerns of loss of time during the conduct of the examination on 05.05.2024. Such cases/representations were considered by NTA and the normalisation formula, which has been devised and adopted by the Hon'ble Apex Court, vide its Judgment dated 13.06.2018, was implemented to address the loss of time faced by the candidates of NEET (UG) 2024. The loss of examination time was ascertained and such candidates were compensated with grace marks. So, candidate's marks can be 718 or 719 also."

The National Testing Agency issued a statement about the ongoing protest on June 6th, 2024, stating, “NTA has registered cases against impersonators and some cases have been registered by the State Police. NTA has been extending support, wherever required, to the agencies in investigating cases pertaining to NEET (UG) 2024. While the outcome of the investigation in aforesaid cases is awaited, NTA has categorically denied any case of paper leak. NTA also issued a detailed Press Release on 06 May 2024 stating that there has not been any paper leak as was being circulated on social media. The same stand has been reiterated and NTA maintains that the integrity of the examination was not compromised.”
