According to reports, candidates appearing for NEET Exam 2023 have reported that their bra straps were checked and that they were asked to open their bra to get frisked before the exam. Allegedly a female aspirant at a centre was asked to remove her kurta and wear it inside out. In addition, a couple of students purchased clothes from nearby shops to adhere to the exam’s stipulated dress code. This has become the object of critique by the aspirants, their parents, and even the public at large.
There have been several such incidents where the policies followed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) have been criticised widely over social media. Two such instances happened during the NEET-UG 2023 exam in West Bengal and Maharashtra and have been criticised by netizens all over.
Some applicants who participated in the NEET-UG 2023 said they were asked to take their clothes off and wear them inside out. Some candidates even mentioned incidents wherein the police demanded they swap clothing with their parents.

The NEET-UG 2023 exam aspirants lodged multiple complaints to the authorities after highlighting the issue on social media. To comply with the dress code, some students even sourced clothes from the nearby stores.

Several students complained that they have been sent to the NTA and in return to this, the agency has announced that it will provide a set of ‘comprehensive instructions’ to the staff members at the exam centre and also warned them to be aware of the sensitive task of frisking female aspirants.
According to a couple of candidates, their undergarments were requested to be opened and their bra straps were checked. A female supervisor at an exam centre asked a female aspirant to wear her kurta inside out after removing it.
