In the pursuit of happiness, we often find ourselves at a crossroads, torn between the fleeting thrill of material possessions and the profound fulfilment of spiritual connection. But what truly sets these two paths apart? Is it possible to experience lasting happiness that transcends the ups and downs of life? According to our expert, the answer lies in understanding the fundamental difference between spiritual happiness and material happiness. In this insightful exploration, we'll delve into the distinct characteristics of each, and uncover the secrets to cultivating a deeper, more meaningful sense of joy and fulfilment withAiR - Atman in Ravi: Happiness Ambassador, Author, Spiritual Mentor and Philanthropist.
What is Spiritual Happiness and how is it different from Material Happiness?
"Material happiness is fleeting, but Spiritual Happiness is eternal. Spiritual happiness comes from following the path of spirituality, from attaining the ultimate goal of life, enlightenment. Spiritual Happiness has three Ps: Pleasure, Peace and Purpose. It is true happiness. And therefore, ‘happiness’ is best spelt with three Ps, as 'Happpiness.' While material happiness focuses solely on pleasure, spiritual happpiness evolves and grows to encompass peace and purpose," explained Ravi.
He added, "Pleasure, which comes from material happiness, is derived from wealth, success and fame. However, this kind of happiness is short-lived and often leads to anxiety, stress and even disappointments. In contrast, spiritual 'happpiness' is attained when we realise the purpose of life when we are enlightened with the truth."
The expert also mentioned, "Spiritual 'happpiness' is about stilling the mind. It is 'making the mind silent.' It is 'stopping the bombardment of thoughts, the toxic thoughts that the mind shoots at us.' It frees us from fear, worry, stress, anxiety, regret, shame, and guilt. When we still the mind, we kill the mind and we reach what is called the state of consciousness, a state of peace. Material possessions can never give us peace. Peace comes from transcending the mind, from contentment and fulfilment. Peace is the foundation of true 'happpiness'."

The purpose is the ultimate peak of 'happpiness.' It involves discovering one's true identity and reason for being. It is finding out the answers to: Who am I and why am I here? This realisation leads to a life of eternal peace, divine love and everlasting bliss.
"Spiritual'happpiness'is not just a feeling; it is a state of being. It is the realisationthat we are not the body, mind or ego. We are the divine soul, aspark of unique life, and immortal energy. It is enlightenment. Spiritual 'happpiness' is realising that this world is just a show, we are but actors who come and go. Nothing is ours. Nobody is ours. Spiritual 'happpiness' makes us realise that everything is a cosmic illusion and ultimately, we are all part of that one supreme energy. Everything is that supreme immortal power we call God. This realisation liberates us from suffering, allowing us to transcend the physical pain of the body, the misery of the mind and the agony of the ego, our false identity. Spiritual 'happpiness' is the way to live, the way to peace, and the way to eternal bliss," concluded Ravi.
