This year Maha Shivaratri is going to be celebrated on March 8 and the Puja Muhurta will begin from 12:07 pm to 12:56 pm. You can worship Lord Shiva in this designated muhurta and chant Shiva Mantras to seek blessings. On this day, Brahma Muhurta will start from 05:01 am to 05:50 am.

Belpatra: Belpatra is one of the important offerings for Lord Shiva. It is believed that offering Belpatra to Lord Shiva results in business progress and increased social prestige.

Mahashivratri Puja Vidhi

According to Shivpuran, the devotee after taking a morning bath should apply tilak of ashes on his forehead and wear Rudraksha rosary around his neck and then visit Shiva temple to worship lord Shiva. After that, he should resolve to fast with devotion and then worship. While worshipping Lord Shiva, anointment should be done with Bilva leaves, honey, milk, curd, sugar and Ganga water. By doing this, all the problems of the person go away and his wishes are fulfilled.
