As per the Hindu Mythology, Mahashivratri is the day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married. The devotees of Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati offer bel-patra to them. It is considered to be a very auspicious day when all bhakts chant mantras and celebrate the day with great fervour.

How To Worship
Anyone and anybody can be involved in the worship. Whoever can fast, children and senior citizens alike. On this day, wake up early morning, wear some nice crisp clothes and take up the resolution of fasting in front of Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati's idol. Also offer bel leaf and flowers on the Shivling.

According to Pandit Dayanand Shastri, 'On this day the zodiac of the five planets will recur. Saturn and Moon will be in Capricorn, Guru Sagittarius, Mercury Aquarius and Venus in Pisces. Such a situation was created in the year 1961. It had not happened in 59 years since then. This is called 'Shash Yog'. Mahashivratri 2020 is also a combination of Sarvarthasiddhi Yog. In this worship, Shiva Parvati is considered superior. The fruit of this worship will be all about peace and happiness in the house. It will also help in the betterment of trade.

Daaridrya dahana stotram
- Chant: Vashisthen kritam stotram sarvarog nivaranam, sarvasamparkaram shighram putrapautradivardhanam
- Translation: May all our all diseases go away by this stotram which was composed by sage Vashistha. May we get wealth and have a healthy child.
