After over two decades in showbiz, Lee Dong Wook continues to be one of the most loved South Korean actors across the world. The 41-year-old has been delivering one successful drama after the other. The sequel of his fantasy romance drama, Tale of The Nine-Tailed released recently where he reprises his role of Lee Yeon, a nine-tailed fox.
1. Lee Dong Wook Comes From A Humble Background
Born on November 6, 1981, in Seoul, South Korea, Lee Dong Wook has three siblings, all younger than him. Reports suggest that he comes from a middle-class family. He used to live with his big family in a rural area. From an early age, he financially supported his family. While he was in high school, Lee Dong Wook got into showbiz.
2. Lee Dong Wook Made His Debut In The Year 1999
Lee Dong Wook made his debut in the year 1999 with an MBC single-episode drama. After starring in the drama, he won a grand prize the same year at the V-NESS model contest. Soon, he got an offer to star in a teen drama titled School 2. With his performance in the next season of the show, School 3, he started to gain recognition. It was in the year 2005 that Lee Dong Wook became a household name in the romantic comedy, My Girl. Wook went to Joongbu University to get a degree in Broadcasting and Media Arts.
Following that, Lee Dong Wook starred in many dramas like Scent Of a Woman, Hotel King, Bubble Gum, Bitter Sweet Life, and The Fugitive of Josean among others.
Lee Dong Wook hosted Strong Heart, a South Korean talk show along with comedian Shin Dong-yup. Later, he also starred in the South Korean reality show Roommate where 11 celebrities lived together and shared a house.
Lee Dong Wook's career graph further rose with dramas like Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Touch Your Heart, and Tale of the Nine-Tailed.

He enlisted in the military in the year 2009 and served under the National Defense Public Relations Service. Lee Dong Wook was discharged two years later.

"More than seeing her as a celebrity, I just saw her as my brother’s girlfriend, so I didn’t feel awkward or have difficulty around her," she added.

6. Lee Dong Wook Once Called Out A Rude Fan
Last year, Lee Dong Wook shared a rude message he received from a fan on a private messaging feature. The controversy sparked when Lee Dong Wook called out the rude fan. In the message he was told to keep quiet because they were doing something important and kept getting notifications which were quite annoying. On reading the message, he replied, "Then why has she subscribed…" In the post, he further commented, "There are so many people who support me, wait for me, and love me unconditionally. What am I doing now? Let me come to my senses. I have a very happy job."
"You don't have fans but I do!! You should just look at me while living lol. Thank you. My subscribers increased 27 times. There might be more today," he added.
