Kuttey: Arjun Kapoor Starrer Dark Comedy To Release In January 2023

Kuttey, the Hindi dark comedy film starring Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, and Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, among others, has finally got a release date. The film is set to release on January 13, 2023.

Kapoor took to social media on November 07, 2022 to announce. “Usher in the New Year with Kuttey, releasing in cinemas on 13th January, 2023,” he captioned the post.

The statement read, “KUTTEY will release in cinemas on 13th January 2023. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Radhika Madan & Shardul Bharadwaj. Kuttey is directed by Aasman Bhardwaj, presented by Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar’s T-series and produced by Luv Ranjan, Vishal Bhardwaj, Ankur Garg and Rekha Bhardwaj.”

The screenplay is co-written by Aasman Bharadwaj along with Vishal Bharadwaj, who has also composed the music for the film. The lyrics for the music has been penned by Gulzar, who has previously collaborated several times with Vishal Bharadwaj. Kuttey has been produced under the banner of Luv Films, production Scope, and T-Series Films.

The film’s first motion poster was released last year without disclosing much details about the story. However, in a statement, Vishal Bharadwaj spoke about the film and about working with his son Aasman for the first time. “Kuttey is extremely special to me as it is my first collaboration with Aasmaan and I’m excited to see what he does with it. Luv Films and Vishal Bhardwaj Films are also coming together for the first time and I am immensely excited about this association, as I really admire Luv’s brave attitude towards filmmaking and strong commercial sense.”

Aasmaan completed his Bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the School Of Visual Arts, NYC and has previously assisted his father in films like 7 Khoon Maaf, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, and Pataakha.

While talking about the cast, Vishal said, “I have worked with Naseer Sahab, Tabu, Konkona and Radhika on different films throughout my career and Aasmaan has brought them all together in one film itself. We cannot wait for the audience to witness this captivating thriller on the big screen.”

Besides Kuttey, Tabu and Bharadwaj have another upcoming collaboration, the spy thriller titled Khufiya, set to release on Netflix. While Kapoor had only one release this year, Ek Villain Returns, starring Disha Patani, John Abraham, and Tara Sutaria.
