Being an influencer wasn’t a profession everyone was trying to chase; being a creator actually meant something. With hit albums one after another, celebrity feuds happening daily, even with so much happening all the time, 2016 felt like a much more peaceful time. Call it nostalgia if you will, but people really miss the bold trends which people were very addicted to following in that era. People are living their lives more unapologetically, more carefree, just like they did 10 years ago. From Bollywood to Hollywood, all your favourite styles and trends are coming back, and people are so ready for it!
Karan Johar’s romance drama ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was the talk of the town in India, and our favourite PeeCee was walking the red carpet at the Met Gala with her now husband Nick Jonas. 2016 was also the year that we saw Aishwarya Rai break the internet with her iconic purple lipstick at the Cannes Film Festival. Our favourite Bollywood stars were making headlines, both nationally and internationally. Priyanka Chopra had become the new face in Hollywood and was a force to be reckoned with. Deepika had also made her Hollywood debut. She absolutely smashed Indian stereotypes by playing a badass character with a realistic Indian accent in the Hollywood action movie ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’.
