According to media reports, Vivek Oberoi dated Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after her break-up with Salman Khan. However, things did not stay that way for long, and they soon decided to separate ways for reasons that most of us are still unaware of. The couple called it quits in the year 2003. During this time, things didn't seem too good for the actor's career, and he experienced a significant downfall.
Before meeting the love of his life Priyanka Alva, several events made Vivek Oberoi change his outlook towards love, making him cynical about love. In an interview with Pinkvilla, actor Vivek Oberoi said that, "my experience in love at that point was one where I felt very let down, I felt undervalued. I felt that what I had done and what I had given in my relationship vs just the respect just the acknowledgement of that was missing. And that made me very cynical and very bitter. So, I didn’t want to be in love with anybody anymore. I just wanted to have flings, just wanted to be in a casual story and I went down that path. I explored that path and the more the girls I dated, the more lonely I felt. It was the most unfulfilling experience."

For this meeting, Vivek flew all the way to Florence to meet Priyanka but he had no intentions of getting married to her. In the same conversation with Pinkvilla, he mentioned, "when I met Priyanka for the first time, I met her as a formality to stop my mom from setting me up. And I went and I met her and for the first time I saw somebody who had no mask, no make up".
According to another media report, Vivek was waiting for Priyanka at a cafe in Florence on a beautiful sunny afternoon. He had a full-fledged plan in place to make Priyanka dislike him. But the instant Vivek laid his eyes on Priyanka, all of his plans fell apart, and he had a smile on his face. They had one of the most candid conversations they've ever had in the cafe . They then went to see Florence's beautiful sunset from the Santa Trinita bridge. Vivek even took off his jacket and set it down for Priyanka to sit on, and by the end of the day, their love story had begun.
The couple, who met because of families, soon fell in love. Vivek said that it was love within twenty minutes for him, according to a report.
Today, the couple are happily married and they have 2 kids together: Vivaan Veer Oberoi, and his daughter Ameyaa Nirvana Oberoi.
