How To Grow A Turmeric Plant At Home?

Here is the step-by-step process to grow turmeric plants at home: 

Step 1: Take a turmeric rhizome (roots) which you can easily get from the market. 

Step 2: Slice it into tiny buds. 

Step 3: Take a pot and fill it with three inches of acidic potting soil. 

Step 4: Place the turmeric roots between two layers of soil.

Step 5: Water the pot until it is visibly wet every 2 to 3 days. 

Step 6: Keep the pot in the warmer area. 

Step 6: Wait for 6 to 10 months for the stalk to grow.

How To Take Care Of Turmeric Plants At Home? 

Every plant requires care and so does turmeric. Here is how you can take care of the turmeric plant (container friendly herbs) at home: 

Keep Conditions Warm

Turmeric requires warm conditions to grow and thus keep checking your pit every few days. Once the sprouts emerge, move them to an area where they can receive sunlight. 

Take Care Of Watering Needs

Don’t water the turmeric plant every day. Rather keep the soil moist. You can mist the leaves if required once or twice a day with water (tips to watering plants during summer)  to keep humidity up.  

Repotting 

Once your plant grows up to 6 to 8 inches tall, carefully transplant it into a larger pot.
