How To Grow Banana Tree From Banana
Here’s a step-by-step guide to growing banana tree from banana:
Step 1: Choose A Right Banana
The first step to growing a healthy banana tree is to choose the right banana. Take a fully ripe banana with a yellow or brown peel. Make sure it is free from all blemishes, bruises or other damage.
Step 2: Prepare The Banana
Take a sharp knife and remove the top and bottom of the banana. Then make a shallow cut along the length of the banana peel. Make sure to not remove the entire peel, just the first few layers as you want to expose the flesh of the fruit.
Step 3: Soak The Banana
After peeling the banana, soak it in a bowl of water for at least an hour. This will help in softening the fruit and make it easier for the root to develop.
Step 4: Prepare The Pot
Meanwhile, prepare the pot for planting. Choose a pot which is approximately 12 inches deep and 12 inches wide with a good drainage hole at the bottom. Fill the pot with well-draining soil which is rich in organic matter.

Step 5: Plant The Banana
Once the banana is soaked for an hour, plant it into the pot. Make sure the exposed flesh is facing up and cover the fruit with soil, leaving the top exposed.
Step 6: Watering
Water the plant well but avoid overwatering. Remember, bananas thrive in warm and humid conditions. So, make sure to keep the pot in a sunny location. Keep the soil moist but not too wet. Wash the leaves regularly with water.
