The food gliding off with ease is what enhances my cooking experience because of the non-stick utensils and they say cleaning's a breeze or so it seems! The truth is those pesky stuck-on bits that are too hard to clean are everything that makes me not want to go in a kitchen in the first place. Because let’s face it, it’s a TASK! Well, over the years, I have tried a lot of tricks to clean my utensils without much of a fuss and here are my favourite ways to keep my non-stick utensils without compromising that sleek shine.
How To Clean Non-Stick Utensils?
Prevention is better than cure, they say. It works for your utensils too! With the time I spend in the kitchen, I’ve learned that preventing your food from getting stuck to your utensils might require a lot of patience but it’s not that hard. If you cook on low flame and keep stirring frequently, it helps to keep the food from sticking and minimise the damage to your utensils’ coating.
No matter how sticky the utensil is, you should not use hard or wire scrubbers. Sticking to a soft dish sponge is the trick to keep your non-stick utensils scratchless. Slowly and carefully get the stuck bits out and it might just win you the race. If you have some stubborn gunk stuck on it, soak the utensil in a mixture of water and dish soap or you can also add baking soda to it.
Aftercare is just as important as cleaning the utensils. To keep your non-stick utensils clean and scratchless, you can use tissue paper to line them while storing or stacking. This will help you avoid them from scratching due to proximity. Another thing you can do is use wooden or silicone spoons and stirrers while cooking to minimise the scratching and scraping.
