Guru Gobind Singh, born on December 22, 1666, according to the Julian calendar, is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Sikh history. He was born in Patna, Bihar, and was the tenth and final Sikh Guru. However, since the Julian calendar is no longer in use and has been replaced by the Gregorian calendar, his birthdate is now observed as January 1, 1667, in modern records, as reported by News18.

In terms of the Hindu calendar, Guru Gobind Singh's birth is recorded on Saptami, Paush, Shukla Paksha, 1723 Vikram Samvat. Interestingly, the Hindu calendar provides a stable and consistent date for the observance, preventing the inconsistencies that are often seen with the birth anniversaries of other saints and spiritual leaders.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji dedicated his life to safeguarding religious freedom and advancing Sikhism. One of his most significant contributions was declaring the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru, which is a key reason why his birth anniversary is celebrated with such zeal. Guru Gobind Singh also established the Khalsa Panth to protect the innocent from religious oppression, making this day one of the ten Gurpurabs observed each year. He is particularly remembered for:

These hymns, known as Shabad, are recited and sung during Sangats (gatherings of fellow believers), fostering a sense of community and devotion among Sikhs.
