'Haddi' Motion Poster: Nawazuddin Siddiqui Features In Drag For Upcoming Revenge Drama

The first motion poster of the upcoming Hindi film Haddi was released on August 23, 2022 and it features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in drag for the first time in his career. The film is slated to have a theatrical release in 2023.

The film is a noir revenge drama in which Siddiqui is seen in a metallic shimmery gown with long hair, and glam makeup. In the motion poster, the actor is seen sitting on a chair with blood on his hands and an iron rod covered in blood in what looks like a rusty factory set up.

The film has gone on floors and will be shot in areas around Western Uttar Pradesh, including Noida and Ghaziabad. However, the rest of the cast has not been revealed yet.

Directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, the upcoming film is produced by Zee Studios, Anandita Studios, and written by Adamya Bhalla and Sharma himself. The upcoming film marks the second project for the director-actor duo as Sharma was the assistant director in some of the episodes of the Siddiqui starrer Netflix series Sacred Games. Sharma has also worked as the assistant director in Anurag Kashyap’s Ak vs Ak and Lust Stories, and as a dialogue writer in Major.

Talking about the film, Sharma said, "It's going to be a double whammy, as Haddi gives me the opportunity to collaborate with Nawazuddin. Our team is hoping that the motion poster piques the audience's interest as we are excited to be diving deep into a new world. Can't wait to start filming".

While Siddiqui added, "I have portrayed different interesting characters but Haddi is going to be a unique and special one since I will be sporting a never-seen-before look and it will also help me to push the envelope as an actor. Looking forward to starting shooting the film.(sic)"
