Dream Girl Actress Nushrat Bharucha Opens Up About Suffering From Depression For The First Time

Depression is one illness that can happen to anyone. Celebrity or non-celebrity, doesn't matter. We see the glitzy world of Bollywood and we all envy the star life all our favourite actors enjoy.

But do you know there is a darker side of this world too? Your favourite celebs, who you love seeing on the silver screen have a personal life too. We don't really get to see the other side of their lives on screen.

It is rare that they open about their personal life in public. However, in recent times a lot of actors have opened up about the darker phases of their life. Some time ago, actors like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, and Parineeti Chopra opened up about suffering from depression.

Now recently, Nushrat Bharucha in an interview opened up about battling with depression.

Nushrat Bharucha has come a long way. From being a part of the telly world to finally making her mark in Luv Ranjan's Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Nushrat's journey in the entertainment industry has been nothing short of a roller coaster.

The actress saw a lot of ups and downs till she finally rose to fame with movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety that released last year. She is soon going to take over the silver screen opposite Ayushmann Khurana with the movie Dream Girl.

Currently, Nushrat Bharucha has some really good movies in her kitty but like many actors, Nushrat also had to pass through a difficult phase where she had lost all hopes.

In an interview with a news portal, Nushrat opened up about the low phases of her life.

Talking about suffering from depression, she said, "I had hit rock bottom and how. I had lost faith as an actor, as a performer, I think I had lost faith as a person only. I said I can't act. If you ask me what did you really do, I can't even go back to tell you what happened, because there was a lot of doing nothing. There was a lot of emptiness, there was a lot of I have no clue."

During this low phase, Nushrat's family was her biggest support. She said, "Of course. They hear me crying myself to sleep and all. So, of course, they knew I was disturbed, of course they knew that she is definitely heartbroken. But honestly, my biggest strength to survive through these days or in this industry for so long is my family. If I did not have my mom, dad, dadi, sister, brother, everybody is here, to go home to, then I don't think I'd probably made it through. I would've packed my bag and left to whichever city I came from."

Talking about her upcoming movie, Dream Girl, the trailer is getting a lot of love from the audience. The much awaited movie will release this Friday. Meanwhile, have a look at one of the behind the scenes video, Nushrat shared on her Insta handle:

Post promoting her upcoming release, Dream Girl, she will be getting back to her next, Turram Khan opposite Rajkumar Rao. This one will be helmed by Hansal Mehta.
