Jab Divek Met: A Fairytale Love Story Of Divyanka Tripathi And Vivek Dahiya

In April 2015, rumors began to swirl that Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress, Divyanka Tripathi, and Vivek Dahiya were dating- and it appears that love and attention for the TV stars hasn’t died down since. Now married, these two have never been shy about expressing their adoration and love for each other on social media. Recently, the duo is in China to celebrate their third wedding anniversary. Which is exactly why we’re taking a trip down memory lane to mark how and when they fell in love.

How Love Blossomed?

After dating for almost a decade, Ssharad Malhotra broke up with Divyanka, which left her broken heart. The actress was going through a rough patch. It was then that she found a great friend in her co-star Vivek who supported her in her tough time.

How did Divek Meet?

The love birds met on the set of Yeh Hai Mohabbtein. Divyanka was playing the role of tv bahu and Vivek was a cop. Though they have been working together for a long time, they never really felt for each other, until a cupid formally introduced them.

Can you guess who played cupid between the two? It was Divyanka aka Ishita’s on-screen brother-in-law Pankaj Bhatia.

In an interview with an entertainment portal, Vivek revealed, “It wasn’t love at first sight. It was an arranged match. We were introduced by a common friend who is also a fellow actor. Then we started looking at each other from a life partner’s perspective. We often met after work and eventually started understanding that we are very compatible and similar to each other and we can take it further.”

The Big Step

It was in December 2015 that Vivek finally decided to pop the question to his ladylove. He planned a cute proposal on the occasion of her birthday. They both went to Bengaluru to meet Divyanka’s parents for the first time and he popped the question on one knee! OMG!

In an interview with a media portal, the actress said, “He (Vivek) proposed to me on my birthday, December 14, 2015. We had gone to Bengaluru together to visit my family and it was the first time he was meeting my parents. Just before the cake cutting, I saw Vivek standing with this beautiful T-shirt with ‘Marry Me Divyanka' written on it. He told me ‘you have everything, but you need somebody who will be committed to you for life. I promise I will never hurt you and keep you happy all your life”. Isn’t it cute?! The Happily Ever After

A few months after the proposal, the couple got engaged in January 2016, followed by a big fat Indian wedding in July, and left us all gushing!

Divyanka and Vivek have been married for three years and currently, they are in China to celebrate their third wedding anniversary.
