Meet Karnataka's Divita Rai, The 23-Year Old Miss Diva Universe 2022 Winner

On August 29, Divita Rai from Karnataka won the title of Miss Diva Universe 2022. The 23-year- old model was crowned by none other than Miss Universe 2022, Harnaaz Sandhu. It was an exuberant ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of the pageant.

The official Instagram handle of Miss Diva shared an image of Rai being crowned by Sandhu. The caption said that Rai will be representing India at the 71st edition of Miss Universe.

After winning the crown, she was quoted saying, “It feels crazy. I finally have this (crown) on my head. It is unbelievable, I really have no words. It’s crazy.”

Academics & Professional Life

According to a report by India Today, Rai has studied architecture at the Sir JJ College of Architecture. However, she became a model by profession.

On her Instagram page, Rai has shared several posts walking ramps for several fashion shows. Her last walk was in a gorgeous red lehenga for the Times Fashion Week.

Runner Up Of 2021

According to a Hindustan Times report, Rai participated in the same pageant in 2021. She was the runner-up, while Sandhu won the crown.

However, this year, she was finally able to take home the crown, and she will soon be representing the country at the international level of the pageant.

Hobbies

Reports suggest Rai loves to play basketball and badminton. She also enjoys painting, reading, and listening to music.

‘Live Each Moment To The Fullest’

In an interview with Indiatimes, Rai described herself as an adaptive child while growing up. She travelled across several cities, changed schools multiple times, and explored many places.

She said, “Do not fear change, embrace life, and live each moment to its fullest.” The model aims to make education accessible to everyone. She also told the publication, “My father harnessed the power of education by breaking out of his financial (financial planning for women) circumstance and empowered himself to earn and provide for the family.”

Heart Of Gold

Her biggest ambition is to be involved with humanitarian organisations and create value through honesty and conviction.

Her one true wish is to abolish nuclear weapons and warfare. She said, “Wars can never be justified, and it’s always the innocent people who are displaced and suffer the greatest losses.”

Advice For Today’s Youth

Rai’s advice to the youth is to not be cynical in the face of challenges that the world is facing today. She urges people to recognise their powers and abilities and use their skills for good.

She said, “We may be many in number, but with the intention to reinvent a better reality for all of us, we’ll be able to create a lasting and impactful change.”

While Rai won the ultimate title, Telangana’s Pragnya Ayyagari won the LIVA Miss Diva Supranational 2022 crown. Ojasvi Sharma won the title of Miss Popular Choice 2022.
