Deepika Padukone has had a tough time during her battle with depression and today is an icon of mental health awareness. No wonder then that the actor decided to be present for the launch of a children’s book named The Dot That Went For A Walk by Lakshmi Nambiar, Reema Gupta and Sarada Akkineni, which has a chapter on her illness.
What's The Book About?
The Dot That Went For A Walk is a compilation of short stories on 51 accomplished Indian women talking about educating kids on Women Power from an early age. It also features illustrations by 51 Indian artists.

Deepika Dazzles In Pink
Dazzling in a shimmery pink top and red pants by designers Gauri and Nainika Karan paired with Balenciaga hot pink pumps and pearl earrings, Deepika Padukone looked resplendent in her first appearance for a work-related event after her wedding. She talked about how it is important to listen to your gut feeling and how it helped her shape her career path in acting even though she was an excellent badminton player as a teenager.

Deepika's Journey With Mental Health Awareness
Aside from being the first Bollywood celeb who openly talked about her depression, Deepika Padukone founded The Live Love Laugh Foundation in 2015. This initiative aims at reducing the stigma associated with mental illnesses by spreading awareness about them. It seeks to give a platform to seek help & knowledge and connect with professionals while forming a network to ensure that sufferers know that they have someone to count on. She has been behind various campaigns such as More Than Just Sad and #DobaraPoocho to help doctors and patients.
